What words are not allowed on Countdown?

I have noticed sometimes that some sort of words are rejected in the dictionary corner.I try and watch the programme as often as i can,its so good.Its amazing what words come up.Rachel Riley has come up trumps with the numbers,just about always when asked ,and jeff Stelling is doing fine also.Much appreciated if you could put me right.
