Are men wearing womens Ugg boots?

I'm from NYC. Around last winter, it became trendy for boys to wear UGG boots as long as they were UGG Australia e lace ups. I think this started in Harlem. Back then i would always question myself when I saw a male wearing a similar design called UGG Australia Adirondack II which, so I thought, is for women. I just always thought that maybe they were or weren't men boots, maybe they have the Adirondack II for men too. However, this year, with all the new colors, it is very noticeable to tell which ones are e and which are Adirondack II since they don't make the same colors for both. A few weeks ago, I saw a a male with cream UGGs on. The only cream UGGs that are out to my knowledge are the ones for females. I know places like David Z don't separate male and female UGGs; you just tell them your size and they get it. Are men wearing women UGGs in NYC (or anywhere else for that matter)? Does it matter what type as long as they have your size?
