How do I just get over him and move on?

im a predicamate. I like this guy. Like infatuated like. I want to get over him cause its obvious that nothing is ever going to happen between him and I. But im stuck. I like him alot. I don't know why I like him so much there is just something about him that makes me swoon. So I would just avoid him and be over him but he hangs out with my friends, and I still want to be friends with him too just not have these feelings for him and also I want to not care about him flirting with other girls and stop comparing myself to them. Help. plz.
