Are the NO. of gays in US rising(as society becomes tolerant of gays),or is it the SAME NO. non-closeted gays?

There is nothing new under the sun. There have been gays since time and memorial. Nobody will ever know the real numbers b/c there are DL or down low brothers and folk.
